I am a Finance and Project Management student at Colorado Technical University, and I'm interested in securing an operational or enterprise risk management role within a financial institution that would allow me to utilize my knowledge and education. Before I attended CTU, I was a training and development coordinator for several local restaurants, but I left the hospitality industry to pursue my education full-time. As a Training Coordinator, I worked with each restaurant's management team to assess their training needs and implement comprehensive programs, and I found that I can bridge the gap between conceptual and practical very effectively. I have a real knack for understanding a problem in its entirety and developing long-term solutions that offer more than just a quick fix. As a compliment to my training programs, I developed a system of internal controls within each restaurant to address the complex and complicated problems they were facing in a way that was both sustainable and low-impact. I decided to go to school and pursue a career in risk management because of my experiences as a training coordinator.
