Accomplishments
  • PeopleSoft Asset Management 8.4 was being used for almost 10 years and there was customization in place to consolidate Assets at the invoice level in AP, which was redundant.
  • The Business was probably not told by anyone in past about delivered feature in PeopleSoft Finance of Consolidation which would meet the exact business need.
  • Laying down the proposal along with a demo of Consolidation process, and Business was onboard and we implemented Consolidation of Assets using AM in PeopleSoft 9.1.
  • The added benefit of that was during upgrade of PeopleSoft system great amount of custom code was done with minimizing the future risk and keep the system as vanilla as possible.
  • This helped the business and company to reduce custom code.
  • PeopleSoft Project Costing- Integration between PeopleSoft AP, AM, Purchasing, Project Costing, Setting up Project Costing Business Units, Integration with Project Costing and Asset Management to capitalize Assets.
  • Reconciling transactions between projects and sub ledgers and General Ledger.
  • PeopleSoft General Ledger- Setting by Business Units, Ledger for Unit, Translation Ledger for multi-currency processing.
  • Setting up Journal Generator Template for integration with sub system.
  • During Upgrade of PeopleSoft 9.1- some valuable suggestions to the Business were made as IT team, one of them was to use Capitalization limit feature while loading assets data from Accounts Payables.
  • Business had laid down this as a customized requirement but since PeopleSoft already has such feature I had provided the road map.
  • This helped the AM and AP team and reduced their work load during month end reconciliation.
  • Demonstration how user preferences in AM can be used to control interface data, eliminating mistakes at source level.
  • Identified and managed key stakeholders by collaborating successfully with various teams (Engineering, Finance, Operations, Solution delivery, Policy, etc.) for smooth and effective delivery of the project/program.
