I am a highly-motivated, hardworking, and detailed oriented person, in whatever tasks are put in front of my. In August 2014 I graduated from the University of Iowa. During those years, I have effectively managed my time as a full-time student, part-time employee, and volunteer at numerous agencies that focus on the development and success of underprivileged children.I logged hundreds of hours volunteers at Four Oaks and Big Brother Big Sister. I have worked in many different customer service job environments, from retail stores to restaurants. I am currently employed through the Iowa City Community School District. I work at Iowa City High as a Para Professional in the Behavioral Disorder department.
Graduated from The University of Iowa with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology with a focus on Childhood Disorders and Children Development. I received my minor in Human Relations. Through my direct care jobs, I have received additional coursework and training in a variety of subjects related to Human Sciences.
At City High I work as a Para Professional in the Behavior Disorder department. My task's at city change from day to day but top priority is to provide an opportunity to inspired and motivate the students to take another step towards success. I have become very flexible and understanding to the children's needs but my main tasks include: social skills mentoring, relationship building, crisis interverntion, communicator between general education teacher and student, providing behavioral redirects, providing academic assistance, enforcing social skills. I also work along side the Special Education teachers. Some of those tasks include: grading, observing and documenting, entering information in grade book, and entering information into Individual Learning Plans.
Cheddar's is a fun environment with a great team. There, I work as a server a couple nights a week for extra spending money. At Cheddar's, I display great team work and impeccable costumer service. I complete many detail-oriented tasks throughout my shifts, without getting overwhelmed by the needs and wants of the customers. I provide enthusiasm and a positive work ethic every shift.
I am a nanny to two adorable girls in Coralville, IA. Currently, it is an as-needed biases. During the summer of 2014, I was full time. I was spending the entire day with the girls, taking them to their different activities, spending hours at the library reading and developing math skills, going out to eat, going to the museum, going on walks, and ultimately just providing the most fun and most safe environment for the children. I built a strong relationship with the girls and family through trust and dedication to providing the best care.
Tanager Place is a non-profit youth and family treatment facility. At Tanager, I worked in the Youth Treatment Inpatient department. In my cottage, the children ranged from 5-17 years old. They were placed at Tanager for a variety of reasons, ranging from mental illness to trauma recovery. As a Youth Service Worker, I was there to help them with simple day-to-day tasks, provide behavioral redirects, provide academic assistant, relationship and trust building, crisis intervention, social skills mentoring, and so much more. I worked along side the therapist to follow and implement individualized treatment plans and goals.
At the Univeristy Club I worked as a Student Manager. Being a Student Manager I was responsible for delegating work tasks to the scheduled staff. I was unlocking and opening the restaurant for service, also I would close down the shift and lock the doors after all the staff left the building. Along with the daily restaurant services we also catered events at the club that could reach up to 300 people. I had to use positive costumer service skills, as well as strong leadership skills so shifts ran smoothly.
My high school job was a host and cashier at the fun and fast paced Buffalo Wild Wings. There, I learned my costumer service skills, time management skills, and team player skills.
When I was home from college, after my freshmen year, I wanted to stay busy. I signed up for classes at NICC and got a job at Crust Italian Restaurant. At Crust, I had to display my most positive work ethic and costumer service skills.
