I work as a direct care/preceptor RN at Lufkin State Supportive Living Center. During this time my job duties providing care, treatment, first aid, emergency care, medication administration and safety for our individuals. I Observe and assess patients for unusual symptoms, adverse reactions, and numerous health concerns and various injuries. Experience in placing and care of gastrostomy tube, wound care, breathing treatments, collecting specimens for labs, spell and write legibly when documenting, according to policies, and up to date on inservices. I create and initiate and review Acute Care Plans. I have stepped in and took on Supervisory role in the absence of 2-10 supervisor, designate assignments when needed to LVNs. I communicate well with family and documentation of furloughs, knowledge of restraint check list, sedation handover sheets, confidentiality and following daily home routine. I also made the community outings for individuals and staff. I communicated well and in writing. I serve as a mentor when new staff are hired for the home, providing training to staff and working together supporting individuals.
