When I had heard the 1487th was next in Line for Deployment I had volunteered to go. From there I had spent 1 year training with my new Unit October 2012 when we had Mobilized to Fort Hood, Texas for Pre Deployment training. Once arriving I had received Vigorous training in multiple weapon systems and the MRAP Up Armored Vehicle we would be using. We were trained for Convoy Security. I was picked to be Scout Truck Gunner due to my Dedication, Discipline, and Self Awareness. My MRAP was equipped with a set of Mine Rollers attached to the front of my Gun Truck which would, on detonation would trigger an IED-IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE, and would detach from the vehicle to save the hull and all Occupants inside. My Deployment was 10 Months in the Kandahar Province of Afghanistan.
Long Nights and Missions would occur Until Deployment was over. I was Promoted to Sargent and Team Leader of our Squad.
Once home I would be transfer to the 1485th Coshocton, Ohio Unit were I would spend my remanding Year before Retiring.
