collect scrap, damaged plastic parts from each press. take to specified area for each is a different material. put scrap into large industrial size grinders for it to chop them up in tiny pieces so it can be melted back down and reused. while putting parts into grinders making sure not to put too many parts at a time to not clog the grinder in a timely manor.
the ground up material that come out of the grinder was put into drum barrels and then dollied to the correct press and mixed in with the raw materials going back into the press. keep all areas clean as there were multiple locations throughput the entire building to grind up parts. maintain grinders weekly. tear down machines and clean from top to bottom. tools used plyers, allen wrenches, rubber mallet, screw drivers, and shop vac. other duties as assigned.
assemble plastic parts as assigned per job. follow the standard of operating procedures. each press has a book tells you what each job requires including components, parts per container, what defects to look for, and any information regarding each part. assembly includes trimming flash or extra plastic off with a trim knife or pair of snips. checking parts for defects, short outs burns, discoloration, contamination, flow lines, ect. some may require a felt, some may require metal clips in specified location, nuts, bolts, or may need spray painted and also ran through an assembly machine of some sort. press cycle time can be anywhere between 30 seconds to 72 seconds meaning you have that amount of time to complete each set of parts before press robot drops another set on conveyer belts located in front of you. maintain a clean work space.
checks press operator parts ensuring each part is 100 percent passable. checking for components, packed correctly in totes or boxes, correct labeling. once each part is inspected to be correctly done by the press operator box gets closed up and signed off on. any defective parts found in the boxes are removed and shown to the operator and then replaced with passable parts.
