Achievements

Received US Army Achievement Medal for taking initiative & performing duties above current pay grade. Thus allowing my unit to constantly meet & beat the Army Standards in August 1999.


Received US Army Achievement Medal for selfless devotion to duty during our Nation's fight against terrorism, which directly resulted in the assigned Task Force's successful mission of renewing public confidence in our Federal Aviation and it's airways in November 2001.

Assist the department with fire ground operations including, hose line operations, truck operations, rescue operations, pump operations, Emergency medical service operations, Hazardous materials operations, Confine Space operations, rope rescue operations and wildland fire operations. Handle vehicle and equipment daily inspections and assigned driver responsibilities for department vehicles. Currently serving as an acting lieutenant (GS-08) on a rotational basis that supervises a crew of three to six firefighters while engaged in fire fighting, hazardous materials mitigation, rescue, and emergency medical operations. Assists the training officer with lesson plan development and training activities and provide instructional classes meeting the department's training program and annual training requirements. Handled the issuing, cleaning, inspection, and the control of the inventory of the department's structural gear and hazardous materials response equipment. Commonly asked by the station captains to assist with collecting required information for future equipment and supply purchases. Performs monthly Fire Station safety inspections to comply with OSHA and NFPA standards. Serves on the department's Training, Safety and Post CBRNE committees. Received Firefighter of the Quarter in 2010, and awarded the Army Civilian Achievement Medal in 2014.

Cannoneer Crewmember / Crane Operator , 08/1998 - 08/2006

Performed duties as a Crane Operator in 2003. Experience included driving and operating 25 ton wheel-mounted cranes. Directing the rigging of loads and estimating the safe lifting capacity of all loads. Performed operator maintenance and assisted mechanics. Additional duties included combat engineer missions and recruiter support activities. Supervised and instructed a squad of six soldiers as the assigned team leader during airport security, and subway missions while activated for Operation Noble Eagle and other National Guard activations.


From 1998 to 2003, Performed duties as a cannoneer crewmember. Experience included driving 2.5 Ton and 5 Ton vehicles, assuming the role as ammunition specialist, cannoneer, maintenance technician, and communication equipment operator. Duties included administering first-aid to injured persons, Handled on site emergency calls via emergency phone and electronic notified, dispatch and processing alarms received, responded to fire and hazardous material releases, inspected fire equipment and apparatus, inspected fire systems and alarms within the structures on and off the IBM site. Held position as 2nd and 3rd shift leader for a group size of 4 to 6 firefighters. Spear headed training within the department, to meet National Fire Protection Association and OSHA standards for an Industrial Fire Department.
