I have assessed, diagnosed, and treated patients under the direct supervision of family practice physicians and nurse practitioners. I have gained experience in procedures seen in family practice, worked with various electronic medical record programs, and documented SOAP notes as well.
Worked full-time as a floor nurse on a Medical-Oncology unit. Special experience working with oncology patients, administering chemotherapy, managing side effects from treatment regimen, and providing education. Also managed general care patients, providing care and education on conditions like diabetes, COPD, and heart failure.
Assisted with undergraduate nursing student clinicals at the Downtown Senior Health Promotion Center, Lincoln, NE. Obtained consents, provided support, and conducted follow-up evaluations with HRSA grant participants. Provided health promotion counseling (including diabetes and heart failure education), diabetic foot care, blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol screenings
