I was a member of the Alpha Delta Nu chapter at JJC for nursing students whom academically qualify. Student must have passed all nursing courses with an 86% or better throughout enrollment. Currently NIH stroke certified. I enjoy helping and serving my community. I strive to treat each, and every individual with up-most respect, and as if they were a member of my family.Having four kids, I understand the importance of time management skills, delegation, flexibility and patience. Punctuality is a quality I take very seriously. I am know to always arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of any event.I always conduct myself in a professional manner, especially when I am at work or a school function, because I am aware, I am not only representing myself, but also my employer and/or school. I fully understand the importance of patient's rights and the importance of patient confidentiality, along with importance of avoiding the mingling of social media and professional composure. I have been a Certified Nurses Asst. since completing my course at JJC in 1997. From there I worked at Our Lady of Angels from 1997-2000. In 2000, I began working at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet on the orthopedic unit. Upon resigning from PSJMC in 2002, I began working for Silver Cross Hospital on the oncology/med-surg unit as a CNA. After one year of employment, I was cross-trained as a unit clerk, where I was able to learn a variety of medical terms/procedure that has helped me in my academic journey. In 2010, I resigned from my positions to attend school full-time to fulfill my personal goal of becoming a nurse. I have since returned to SCH, where I now work all over the facility, including ICU, ER, and endoscopy to name a few of the specialty units I have had to pleasure to serve. Along, with med-surg, telemetry, and the post-surgical units.
Now, in 2018, I have been on the oncology unit for more than two years. I have thrived in role at nurse. Becoming ONS certified to properly and safely administer chemotherapy. Along, being appointed Charge R.N. of the unit when managers or clinical supervisors are not present. Meticulous nurse, excellent at juggling multiple tasks and working under pressure. One who truly enjoys their job, by touching patient's on a daily basis and having the opportunity to learn something new everyday.
