5 years ago, Braveheart Foundation was founded as an international nonprofit that focuses on providing comprehensive health care resources and building healthcare infrastructure in disadvantaged communities in Uganda, East Africa. Through the annual mission trips, the organization was able to provide basic and specialized healthcare services to patients to garner much needed successful health outcomes. Braveheart continue in it's efforts to be a beacon in the nursing and medical community by leading 15-20 clinicians overseas to serve in the yearly medical missions.
It has been proven that better healthcare outcomes lead to a more thriving life for all people. Since 2015, Braveheart has provided free healthcare services to over 5000 Ugandan villagers. Through Bravehearts work and partnerships with local Ugandan medical professionals, Braveheart has seen an improved determination among the villagers to actively seek a healthier lifestyle. Bravehearts work foster hope and community by inspiring the peoples of Uganda to become change-agents. It has been discovered that by involving the villagers in coordinating communal health services, this allow them to take ownership of the plan(s) of care provided, which improves their health, quality of life and tenure of care throughout the community. With Bravehearts assistance in educating the public and providing healthcare resources, Ugandan doctors and villagers are able to proceed with implementing and coordinating sustainable healthcare projects that continue long after the Braveheart team has returned to the U.S.
