Summary

I have a lifelong passion for Horsemanship, rescue and prioritize upholding the utmost highest standards of equine care. Working with special needs individuals and equines alongside a healing arts practice I have created has brought purpose to my life. As a native New Yorker and Equestrian professional with 28 years of Horsemanship experience and over a decade in the field of equine therapy, I am confident that I am ideally suited for this position.

The Grateful Pony Art and Equestrian Center, which I founded circa 2012, has grown into The Grateful Pony Rescue Foundation in recent years. After operating as a rescue=based art and equine therapy center, in 2017 The Grateful Pony became the birthplace of nonprofit, Bright Strides Inc. Over the past decade I have designed, implemented and fine tuned a comprehensive rescue=based art and equine therapy program, offering equine assisted learning in conjuction with expressive healing arts in nature=based settings. Through my individual work as a consultant and organization leader I have worked to foster strategic partnerships that have expanded the reach and scope of the art and equine therapy program that I lovingly created. It has been life-changing to watch the program models I have worked tirelessly to formulate help individuals, equines and therapeutic organizations to thrive. I am eager to embrace the opportunity to further excell and develop my career with GallopNYC.

It would be an honor and privilege to work with GallopNYC. Having run a farm for over a decade and continuously experiencing the need to scale to greater reach, executing this through strategic partnerships and planning, I am confident that working with GallopNYC as Executive Director, would open the door of opportunity for me to apply my years of entrepeneurship in the field and acquired skill sets in order to sufficiently challenge myself as a leader and equine professional in the nonprofit sector. It has long been my dream to expand a therapeutic equestrian program to multiple locations and have done so via partnerships, consultation and networking to a great extent. GallopNYC has a wonderfully broad reach in the NY metropolitan area, my birthplace and lifelong home, where I have longed to apply my skills and an equine professional, returning to my roots. I can offer GallopNYC the necessary leadership within the organization's infrastructure and community, in order to excell to acheive it's greatest potential.

During the end of my junior year, business took off at my farm, The Grateful Pony Art & Equestrian Center, which I founded circa 2012. I did not have the time to allocate to pursuing my BA in Art Education as it was not pertinent to my career as an Equestrian farm and business owner, PATH certified Instructor, including Equine Therapist and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning. Thus, I pursued my PATH certifications and focused my energy on program development as i saw tremendous results and could not afford to take time away from the business and it's astonishing rate of development. In order to keep up with the growth of the program and focus on the pursuit of my PATH certifications and career, I applied my training and background in Art Education to the programs I created at my farm, which are now being applied at numerous other organizations with which we have partnered over the years.
