My task as a Automotive Technician for the Manheim of Pensacola include performing daily mechanical inspection on various cars throughout the auction lot. Inspections can include diagnosis various sellers and buyers mechanical issues, perform Post Sale Inspection, help my shop foreman keep and maintain company vehicles golf carts. I also perform forklift services. I partner with other departments during the week to help prepare the auction run lanes get ready for the sale.
As a Department lead manager I was in charge of 15-20 employees in the Lean department of drivetimes reconditioning system in the their inspection center. AS department lead I worked to get cars brought in to the lean department in a timely manner as to not miss the "arb" window. I would then perform daily inspections/audits of employees abilities to correctly perform drivetime "lean" system processes. As a manger i would perform yearly reviews for employees to help them grow and build their skills needed to become a better employee and get promoted out of the department. After the first six months as department leader the department went from last in the company to first. I was able to continue the trend and stay in the top five for the next two years as department leader.
I was also the safety captain for the inspection center performing weekly monthly and yearly inspections of the inspections centers safety and getting potentials safety issues corrected.
during my time as a level four technician for drivetime i worked in the lean system starting as a controls and features inspector in the morning then swapping over to the build team after the lean line was finished. After the first two months i wanted to move around the lean system and learn all various positions on the lean systems as to make myself the most variable and versatile employee for the company. I then turned to the build department to build my skills as a technician for the company. We would perform tire replacements installing various parts to bring the various cars from auctions up to drivetime standards for the customers to purchase. Once i completed my time in that department i moved to the Quality control department after my time in build, In quality control i was the last line of defense in the lean system to catch defects or issues prior to customers looking at units. As quality control lead technician our inspection center went from the bottom 1/3 to the top 1/3 in three weeks.
