I believe I am called to the Nursing profession because I feel that it is my responsibility is to help individuals with physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological difficulties and limitations. For me, Nursing is a profession that requires continuous sense of commitment to serve, make a difference and educate oneself and others. As an Advanced Practice Nurse, my philosophy is to uphold patient's dignity and safety at all times , deliver safe patient care regardless of age, gender, race, sex or status in the society. I believe that every patient deserves to be respected, and treated as equal. As a patient advocate, my role is to enable patients to believe they are also capable of taking good care of themselves and making an informed decision to improve their overall health outcomes .
As a Nurse Practitioner, it is my responsibility to is to keep myself abreast with the latest technologies, evidenced-based findings, regulations, and guidelines to help me better care for patient population. For me, learning is a continuous process accompanied by personal and professional growth . Nurse Practitioners should always strive to be educators, patient advocates, agents of change and critical thinkers who are open to challenges and seeks knowledge and skills in alignment with medical science and technology.
