I am experience with working with all types of people. I was a swim coach for three years in High School for our age group team. I also coached in college for Total Performance Swim Camp. I had the opportunity to be selected for a leadership retreat in college to represent my swim team. There I gained skills of what it takes to be a great leader. I brought those skills with me when I was the Captain of my swim team my senior year. I helped lead a group of eighty peers through our season. I have worked in geriatrics since April 2019. I have led activities for them and set up programs for them to enjoy.

Personal Information

I have a passion for helping people. I have coached for many years and nothing made me more happy than to see the children I was coaching progress and grow. I have coached children with disabilities such as down syndrome, autism, and blindness. I have volunteered as a camp counselor for a week in the summers during my time in high school. I would lead my cabin to grow and show them new activities that they might never have had the chance to experience. I also volunteered for the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. I was able to visit one women during the week and talk with her about her life experiences. My work at Sentinel Pointe with the geriatric population was challenging to say the least, but in a good way. I worked with the residents with Dementia and then moved to activities for the whole building. Everyday at all my jobs were learning and growing experiences.

Interests
I am passionate about Recreational Therapy, being able to help people progress and improve their lives. Teamwork Hard Worker Leadership skills/training Organized Patient Dedicated Total Performance Swim Camp | Grand Rapids, MI Swim Coach and Counselor Worked as a swim coach and counselor in the summers of 2016-2018. During this time I, along with the other counselors, was in charge of about thirty kids. We were with them the whole week from sun up to sun down. We organized activities for them to do and games. We were also coaching them and helping them improve their swimming. It took a lot of patients and organization to work with the kids. ABVI | Grand Rapids, MI Volunteer I volunteered for the ABVI, association for the blind and visually impaired, during the months of February through May in 2017. During this time I went and visited people that were in care facilities. I would talk to them and listen to them. Sometimes we would go for walks and other times they would ask me to read to them. Special Olympics | Grand Rapids, MI Volunteer Every year Calvin College hosts the special Olympics. I have been able to be a part of it and helping out during this time. I had the chance to talk to some of the athletes and encourage them in their races. SAAC | Grand Rapids, MI Student SAAC is the student athlete advisory commi ee at Calvin College. It consist of about 30 students athletes and we are able to help be er our school and community. We put on a charity event, of our choice, every year. This year we are supporting toys-for-tots and collecting toys and donations for children for Christmas. Gainey Leadership Retreat Student The Gainey Leadership Retreat is a selected group of student athletes, about 30, that are chosen to go to a leadership retreat in Montana. During this time we learned about leadership and how to be be er leaders and how to be er lead others. It was a week long in August 2018. We worked on our skills and how to apply them to our lives and to our teams, making us be er leaders for the future.

  • In High School I earned All-Conference Swim Team All four Years, along with four year MVP, and All-State
  • In College I earned 2017 and 2018 All-Conference Swim team. In 2017 I got my first All-American title for top 8 in the nation and it 2018 I earned three my All-American titles. I was Captain of my swim team for out 2018-19 season.
