Blue Force Tracker Training and countless hours of first hand use. 1. We were put in scenarios where my fellow marines and I had to use this system to distinguish the enemy and the friendly. Telling us exactly where everybody was. This system definitely made our jobs as marines 100% easier. 2. Driving around in foreign terrain can be very stressful and in a AAV with not being able to see your surroundings to well it helped with knowing exactly what you were about to run into plus knowing exactly where your other marines are that left off with you. 3. I countless of times warned my fellow marines by utilizing this system even if they had it and weren't paying attention that the enemy was near them. It saves lives in my eyes. Very simple to use at that. 4. Instead of getting a communication guy to radio the next guy back we were able to send and receive messages without blockages of the terrain with the new model that came out a few years back. 5. With the JRC we were also able to send secret data if needed which helped tremendously. 6. Became proficient with daily procedures like FIPR messages, SPOT reports, and icons on the table.
First hand experience with the Usq-117g using Amphibious Assault Vehicles. 1.This capability allowed us to keep moving—ship-to-shore. We did this while still being connected to the networks and our unmanned aerial vehicles, getting downlink feeds from the sky and doing command and control while going onto shore, and, of course, maintaining connectivity to the follow-on objective.
Training in the Ku satellite communication system 1. The system allowed us full-motion video from UAVs operating over a landing beach to be pulled down to the POP-V. The video being transmitted in real time to staff amphibious vehicles and network help out so much, allowing everyone to see what was on the beach or whatever we were coming up to.
