Designed and implemented a highly scalable virtual desktop solution supporting 2,000 desktops for users all around the world. Drive user and management adoption of virtual desktops and personally owned devices for business purposes. Maintain high levels of security and advise information security and management of the security strengths of solutions such as VMware Horizon Suite, Good for Enterprise, and LANDesk Management and Security Suites.
Senior Engineer with sole responsibility for a VMware Horizon virtual desktop environment supporting 2,000 desktops accessed by users all around the world. Currently the only virtual desktop engineer and have responsibility for all aspects of the virtual desktop enviornment. This includes the purchase of hardware, the solution design, the configuration and implementation of the hardware, virtual servers, and virtual desktops. Leading the design for the next evolution of VDI to encompass multiple data centers with global load balancing and Nutanix hardware. Provide senior level troubleshooting and configuration requirements for network access to and from the virtual desktop environment including routing, switching, and firewalls. Successfully cross-trained and integrated additional support of the environment across multple levels of support technicians.
Responsible for designing any solution that involves hardware and software technologies used by end users. Including laptops, desktops, workstations, mobile workstations, multi-function printers/scanners, mobile devices, password management, virtual desktops. Also responsible for end user documentation that is well written and easy for any level of end user to follow successfully. Design effective solutions and hand off the support and documentation of those designs to the teams that will provide day to day support of those solutions.
Manager of End User Computer support, including the Desktop Support team spread across multiple locations in the U.S., and an outsourced internal Help Desk. These teams deployed and supported any technology used by end users. Also responsible for managing the department cost center.
Manager of the Network Operations team, consisting of 3 shifts, located in the Command Center. The team is responsible for monitoring the real-time processing environment and network connectivity with all payers and providers, among other monitoring. The team documents and escalates alerts to level 3 support and follows-up until resolution. WebMD Business Services changed their name to Emdeon Business Services.

Started as Windows Server administrator and network administrator converting a legacy token ring network to fast ethernet using Cisco switches and routers. Moved into the role of a hands on working IT Manager over a team of 5 responsible for Windows Servers, AS/400 administration, Cisco based network administration, Unix administration, and SAN administration. Continued as the technical lead for the team in support and administration of the environment.
