My name is Ahmad Minnis. I am from St. Louis, Missouri. The earliest of my background starts with growing up in St. Louis, MO in a complex called Carr Square Village. I couldn't go to the schools around me because they were bad so I went to private school. I attended St. Louis Christian Academy at five and then just stayed in private school all throughout my life and am currently attending Cardinal Ritter College Prep. School just happens to be fine, me as a person has always liked school. In my personal life, I started watching a lot of television early on and then became intrigued by justice, law, comics and many other things. Besides television, early on I liked history and learning history that it became my favorite subject. I guess you can attribute my love for history to my love for politics, justice, law and many other things History fueled to my reading and learning of history, nations, civil right movements and many other things. Today I've read a lot of books, ranging from princeton lawyers, to James Baldwin, to cops and even MLK. I focus on studies, music., reading and a lot of other things.
Seeing as Covid disrupted almost every aspect of like and certain restaurants where now closed, I set out to find another job. I applied to over fifty jobs refusing to give up and finally I landed a call with someone from Shake Shack. I had put in so many applications, I couldn't even remember when I applied but anyways the call made for an interesting conversation which landed me an interview and then eventually landing me a job. I started working at Shake Shack in June and July, in the midst of Covid and automatically loved it. While there I worked hard as with my former jobs , to prove I deserved and how incredibly grateful to be working in these disastrous times. I did almost everything their from being on the grill, frying fries, cleaning dishes, helping customers, being a cashier and more. It was my third job and I loved it. I ended up leaving in October so I could focus on my studies. While their I made great relationships with my managers, coworkers and guest.
I started working as The Old Spaghetti Factory when I was sixteen and it made for an interesting experience. I originally joined on at The Old Spaghetti Factory as a dishwasher and then I found the job to be too tiring so I started working as a busser. As a dishwasher, I washed dishes, picked up bus- tubs, sent them through the dishwasher and transported them back to their respectful places. It made for an inquisitive experience that I will never forget and even grew me up a little. I soon though of as dishwashing as too strenuous and lonesome, so I became a busser. As a busser I would clear tables, clean them, bring the dirty dishes to the dishwasher and then reset tables. I soon left The Old Spaghetti Factory due to Covid-19. Although me and The Old Spaghetti Factory parted on bad terms, I credit them for teaching me stability, hard work and teaching me how to adapt in the most egregious and troubling of times.
I've always liked music and I continuously listen too it. Early on it became my sedative for life, proving very interesting artistic. I was very big on music and television growing up and still am. I'll binge watch shows or listen to an album for an extended amount of time and just zone out. In addition to that I like to read, which is odd because for the longest I despised it. My liken for reading comes from profound interest and love for politics and justice. I've even been in the paper a couple of times for my helping with young lives matter and conversations with Congressmen Cori Bush. I've read an insurmountable amount of books including dear martin, black vs blue, race for profit begin again by James Baldwin and many more. If I had to put a number too it I would say I've read almost ten books, this year along with more to go. I bought all the books as a present to myself for my seventeenth birthday and decided to just binge read. That's who I am. I read, I write, I listen to music from time to time and I also like comedy. Stand-ups and comedy I find particularly satisfying, that ability to make one laugh in the darkest of hours is incredibly genius. I like reading like a LOT, it's weird. One more thing I will add is Im such a movie watcher that I can depict movies and character from the moment a movie starts. my mind continues to be inspired and motivated by knowledge, that's why I like it so much. As I said earlier, I read a lot. My reading leads to me looking up tens of thousands of words. If you trace siri and all the questions you ask her, I'm sure you can find hundreds of words of looked up. I like learning new words and increasing my vocabulary. I found these things like reading and music quite pleasurable. That is who I am, a guy made up many different likes and interest that don't really relate to each other
I have a lot of skills that I have developed over the years and want to continue to develop throughout my life. I am skilled in talking and debating, knowing how to persuade someone. I like and am very good at making people laugh and I also am quit good in helping people with work which is weird because I never thought of being someone who help with homework or frankly anything. My skills come from a lot of things reading, writing, articulating and being put in those certain situations where I must lead. I work good in groups and am great in taking that lead and also standing alone.
