  • Administers and controls the sales staff assigned to the applicable sales office or remote sites to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, especially with regard to cash handling, electronic payments, paperwork preparation and customer relations. Corrects performance deficiencies as required.
  • Maintains and controls all cash funds required to effectively operate sales office sites; determines proper authorization and documentation for all disbursements in the form of cash or check; receives and accurately categorizes payments due the Authority; performs a daily cash balance of the office cash fund; generates requests for cash fund replenishment and/or performs the deposit of collected funds.
  • Prepares and records change and boarding instrument and card media allotments; confirms the accuracy of sales documentation against physical counts of cash and unsold instruments; consolidates sales proceeds for bank deposit; and prepares reports of sales activities as required. Resolves and records all discrepancies, collects shortages or disposes of overages within the stipulated period.
  • Interfaces with external outlets or agencies, such as school districts, corporations, etc., to coordinate authorized requests for the issuance or replenishment of boarding instrument and card media allotments; receives, verifies and records proper payment; and resolves all inconsistencies to ensure the highest level of service and responsiveness to business community needs.
  • Performs physical inventories of all boarding instruments and card media, daily and as required; records results; and reports on and resolves all inconsistencies. Generates requests for instrument replenishment to ensure that adequate levels are maintained to satisfy demand and are properly controlled.
  • Investigates in response to customer complaints received regarding sales operations. Undertakes necessary administrative/operational actions in order to resolve any deficiencies and to ensure system responsiveness.
  • Interfaces with other departments, such as Operations, Purchasing, Regional Rail, Marketing, as well as external commercial/retail establishments to coordinate and satisfy authorized requests for issuance or revision of instrument sales and/or change allotments to support ongoing sales program needs or special events.
  • Monitors and maintains all register equipment assigned to the Sales Office to efficiently monitor, analyze, control and report sales activities; simplifies forms to expedite and enhance information flow and ensure adequate training of staff responsible to utilize system.
  • Performs special control reviews within the sales operation or analyses to determine the effectiveness of sales and efficient utilization of personnel; conducts site and equipment reviews to ensure that operations are conducted securely and present an attractive image to the Authority’s patrons. Must perform special control reviews including ASD knowledge.
