Former Full Time Biology Student
Hello to all this resume may concern, I am Jeffrey Stevenson
I am a twenty two year old young man newly out of secondary school. I chose to leave my university without completing my degree not because I did not possess the intellectual capacity to complete the bachelors program. On the contrary I believe I am and proved myself to be proficient in most if not all areas of study I undertook while attending my university as can be confirmed by professors and peers. I chose to leave because I came to a life changing realization. I was at the very point where I was cleared to and about to enroll in my final year of study when I realized that although it is very true for a great deal of young people that a degree is a great deal helpful in commandeering a career, it is in no way a guarantee. I associated with several new graduates and learned that not only were many of them having trouble finding careers in their field of study, a percentage of those who did failed to meet the requirements expected of them due to lack a of real-world work experienced coupled with the obvious fact that many of their academic achievements were procured dishonestly. After re-assessing my own future and choices made in the past I realized that my attending of college was a decision I made based on the expectations of those around me and was never something I felt was essential. I, like many others, allowed myself to slip into debt and ultimately wasted a great deal of time in the pursuit of a fantasy implanted in so many young minds that college is that answer for all life and career questions. But if there is anything life in real world has taught me it is that experience is the best educator. I have worked in several positions including outdoor maintenance, automotive detailing, sales, customer service, retail, and supervisory roles that I believe have given me a great deal more knowledge about what it takes to be a good employee than anything I've learned in a classroom. I am fully confident as a young man that I can contribute positively to any position that I am qualified for and am both willing and able to complete any academic processes necessary for those I am not. If and when I do return to college I would like to do so with a more direct goal in mind based upon a current career path. If I am offered any position that usually requires a bachelors degree or higher I am willing to complete whatever courses deemed necessary in my own time to continue my growth as an employee. Otherwise, I am assured I would be a great asset to whatever organization that chooses me and truly understand the need for punctuality, appropriate attire, pleasant yet appropriate interactions between myself and my clients and my coworkers, focus, and maturity in the workplace. I with uphold these favorable traits to the best of my abilities and the rest will come with time as I learn the specific guidelines necessary to do my job efficiently and correctly.
All General coursework completed
Course work in laboratory settings completed
Credits above and beyond requirements for AA degree
I have learned to better manage the administrative and personal challenges presented in the realm of academia and society on a larger scale and in more detail than I had experienced previously in life
I also eventually came to understand that undergraduate studies are truly the process of learning to self-motivate and live according to self-accountability as well as to determine whether or not a student is committed to their career field even if they are unsure of what they truly wish to become. Being that I am willing and able to do these things I know that while it may be in my near future, returning to complete my degree in order to portray myself as a qualified and skilled worker when I already am one is a pointless waste of time and money unless it will truly improve the skills necessary to complete my tasks
Able to lift upwards of 100 pounds
