To Whom It May Concern:
Julius Tuttle was a general manager of Speedway for the district I previously held. Julius,
also known as Van, ran the highest volume store in my district. Van was my top performing
general manager when evaluated monthly on 20 metrics. The 20 metrics were 12 operationally
focused and 8 sales focused. Van was always precise with inventory counts and ensured his
entire store inventory was counted weekly. Van held an excellent retention rate and was in the
top 10 of the entire company for Q1 of 2020.
Van is a district manager's dream to have as part of the team. Van would assist in other
store projects or staffing when needed. If another store had staffing issues, Van would assist in
coverage of shifts as well as bringing his team members when needed. If I ever experienced a
hardship in the district and needed assistance, Vans team was willing to shift schedules to
ensure that he assisted in those.
Van was a training manager, which meant that he would train and develop existing
managers as well as incoming managers into the company. Van would provide the 8-10 weeks
of guidance and has been able to successfully have the outcome of several general managers
and assistant managers.
Van is very determined in his role and responsibilities. He is able to build a cohesive
team that works well together and ensures the success of every team member. He is a quick
learner and is able to grasp all knew knowledge quickly. He handles multiple tasks at once
extremely well and is able to handle any hurdles that happen in a very calm manner. Van is a
terrific employee, and anyone would be very lucky have him as a leader.
