Nolan Burch Greek Leadership Academy
Leadership Academy for Greek life students at WVU to learn about and discuss the critical issues about Greek Life on campus and at other schools. The academy taught me about servant leadership, critical thinking, problem solving, and how to communicate effectively as a leader.
Extracurricular
Gymnastics
I was a competitive level gymnast, starting with classes when I was 1 ½ years old. I did gymnastics until 2017 (18 years old). While being a gymnast and a student, I learned time management, organization, and how to prioritize. Gymnastics has taught me patience, determination, reliability, and how to adapt to change.
Delta Gamma- Alpha Xi chapter at West Virginia University
I joined the chapter in Fall of 2018. As a part of the sorority, we are focused on service activities and working with foundation. Our foundation is Service for Sight. Within Service for Sight, we also work with Joining forces, the Golden Anchor Program and local community activities.
Director of Interfraternal Activities
For this position, I was in charge of informing my chapter about campus and community activities, as well as philanthropy events for the other chapters on campus. I set up teams for each event that we participated in. My other responsibilities included Homecoming, Greek Games, and Parents Weekend activities. I worked with the other chapters that we were paired with for Homecoming and Greek Games to plan and coordinate all of the events.
VP: Panhellenic 2020-2021
I am the liaison between my chapter and WVU's Panhellenic community. I collaborate with other Greek organizations on campus as well other clubs to help my chapter be involved. I also motivate my chapter to be engaged in those events, so we are able to help our community as well as strengthening our relationships with those clubs and organizations.
Volunteer
9/11 Volunteer: 2011-2017
With my club gymnastics gym, every year on 9/11 we would raise money to donate to a charity of our choice. We would do a variety of things like a bake sale, car wash, and we even performed for local nursing homes.
Region 7 Gymnastics: 2014-2016
For a weekend in September, we would travel to a gymnastics camp to spend the weekend. While we practiced, we raised money for our organization to donate money. The organization was created in honor of a coach/judge/friend of our region who had passed away from cancer.
Haine Middle School; 2015-2018
At Haine Middle School, I would spend my time helping with a STEM event each year. For that event, we would help set up multiple activities that the students could go through to help encourage creativity within the STEM field, but they were also fun activities. Some of the stations include robotics, rocket building, and lock games.
