  • General Valve Plug Valve Technical Expert. Point of contact for all technical questions and requests from internal and external customers, including quality, manufacturing, supply chain, assembly, testing, inside and outside sales, and aftermarket.
  • Lead Engineer for all Marketing and Technology projects. Lead numerous concurrent large scale projects, including a $3 million– 5,000 engineering hour - new product development project comprised of designing, testing, and preparing the new valve model series into production (12 new valves and ‘retro-fitting’ 13 existing designs with patented design improvements). Project stage gates included valve and concept design reviews, manufacturability reviews, supply chain cost analysis, quality sample approvals, strain gauging, and product lifecycle testing. Project results include an average cost savings of 30% (netting an estimated $5 million in cost savings each year), 25% weight savings and improved casting design for ease of foundry production, along with complete industry defined fire safe and fugitive emission compliance.
  • Created the General Valve Design Manual – all-inclusive engineering report and procedure (complete with automated workbooks) establishing a systematic and consistent approach for designing new General Valve reduced bore plug valves. Procedure also includes finite element analysis of all components for validation.
  • Created and maintained design files that analyzes and calculates the stresses, loads, and overall structural integrity of all pressure containing and drivetrain components for entire General Valve product offering. Design files are the support documentation used for validation during Industry audits to ensure any and all valve components meet applicable industry standards requirements defined by ANSI, API, and ISO.
  • Handled the troubleshooting for field performance reports, including travel offshore to a Norwegian drilling platform to upload new PLC program on prover loop skid.
  • Performed many advanced technical workups for sales orders, including new valve sizes, system and drivetrain modifications, seismic calculations, and valve certification testing (fire safe and fugitive emission compliance).
