Managed Global Network Re-engineering Program - $5M (2yr ROI for $5M investment) effort to overhaul the entire network infrastructure (L2 & L3 - switch and router) for all campus locations, LAN and WAN along with providers over a 12-month effort.The actual deployment took place over 3 quarters which was extremely aggressive.
Architecture consisted of 2 global WAN providers (Telstra & Verizon), regional internet egress, network-to-network interfaces (allowed Verizon sites to talk to Telstra sites), complete VPN based redundancy, internal route plan overhaul along with external community based BGP deployment to provide automated ingress/egress global failover.
Every switch, router and provider was changed across the 80+ BMC locations.
Reduced IT cost by managing consolidation program to retire 180 applications and 145 servers.
