I was an Executive Assistant to the CEO and CFO of a Beverly Hills property and asset management company, Dominium Management Corporation. I performed all the usual assistant tasks: phone and written correspondence, handling outgoing and incoming mail, copy jobs, research, filing etc. The supportive role I played in the refinancing of three core entities, with both professionalism and acumen, was an incredibly challenging and rewarding time. I was enmeshed in a fast-paced, high-tension environment, the kind, it would turn out, in which I thrive. But I most fondly remember being the fix-it girl. I was a personal assistant as well, which is a job I am all too familiar with after having been that for each of my parents, individually, for years. The CFO called me Jenergizer, and he was often astounded by my ability to "unwind" the time consuming, menial challenges that arose in his life—things like setting up his email accounts on his new phone; learning how to use said phone; calling xyz customer service to politely gripe about some outrageous bill he received; helping him navigate complicated websites; shopping around for an assisted living facility for his 90 year old mother-in-law. Anything that needed to be done, I did it, and happily.
