I started the job with KFC as a cashier at 16, by 18, I was promoted to shift supervisor, and at 20, I became assistant manager. I worked at KFC for nine years before becoming a stay at home mom for three years. In 2012, I was hired as a paraeducator in special education, where I worked inclusion with special needs students in teachers classrooms until August of 2017. Then, I was hired as the Program Coordinator for the Save the Children programs at the same elementary school. I managed the in-school and after-school tutoring, as well as summer school programming. I did this job from September of 2017 until January of 2023 when I had to resign to do my student teaching for my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education. I have much experience with budgets, paperwork, schedules, staff hiring, parent communication, as well as communication and collaboration with staff members, teachers, and administration. I also know how to write lesson plans, organize events, work within the community, time management, and organization. I managed a program for six years, tutoring struggling readers as well. This encompassed snack, literacy events, everyday programming, summer camps, and much more. I am dedicated to the education profession, which is why I chose to go back to school and get a dual degree, to ensure that I can do what I love, which is working with children and helping them to learn and grow into great citizens.
