Monitored patients pre-op, intra-op, and post-op for Interventional Radiology Procedures. Reviewed pre-op, intra-op, and post-op orders and oriented patients to unit. Provided teaching for what to expect pre-op, intra-op, and post-op according to what procedure the patient may be having. Procedures included: arteriograms, cardiac, peripheral, and cerebral, with interventions such as possible angioplasty, possible stent, possible coiling, possible embolization, possible thrombolytic therapy. Additional vascular procedures includes venography, endovascular grafts, right and left heart pressures, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt insertion, inferior vena cava filters, hemodialysis vascular access declotting and possible angioplasty or stent placements, tunnel dialysis catheter or port placements and venous sampling.
Nonvascular procedures includes bililary drains, nephrostomy tube placement, abscess drain placements, gastrostomy tube placement, feeding tube insertions, fallopian tube recanalization, vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty, lumbar puncture chemo therapy, radiation oncology.
Cat scan procedures includes any organ biopsy. An example would include lung, liver, kidney, peritoneal, and bone to name a few. Also pericardialcentesis, and chest tube insertions.
Ultrasound procedures includes thyroid and lymph biopsy, along the paracentesis or thoracentesis.
MRI procedures include breast biopsy, or providing anesthesia or po sedation if needed.
Additional nursing responsibilities would include contrast reaction management, monitoring renal function pre-op, moderate/conscious sedation, IV access and critical drip monitoring.

Responsibility included but not limited to: Scheduling and Staffing RN's on my team for 5 hospitals in the Northern Tampa Area. Assisting staff with acute treatments in all hospitals, assisting my On-Call staff by helping them with emergent treatment, setting up patients for peritoneal dialysis, sitting up and trouble shotting AKI patients needing CVVHD, CRRT, IHD, CAVHD. Providing Chronic patients with treatments while in the hospital setting, and proving acute patients and family members with extensive education on "why my kidneys failed and what to expect after discharge": Attention to details "what is my clearance, what are labs values for this month", and why they need to know this. Attention was given to anemia, dry weight, renal function studies, diet, phos, K+, and ultrafiltration.
My additional responsibilities included, payroll, CQI, Meetings with each hospital on a monthly basis with regard to patient outcomes, problem solving, CQI reporting, and costs, monthly staff meeting and education, Precepting new employees, yearly evaluations, and employee counseling, hiring, firing and follow-ups. From Feb 2007 until Oct 2008 I worked on a travel contract with DCI in Lexington, Ky in acute care dialysis. We covered 4 hospital in the Lexington area providing CVVHD, CAVHD, and Ultrafilration to critical patients in the ICU. We also provided chronic patients with hemodialysis while they were in the hospital.
From Nov. 2008 until Nov 2009 I worked as a Travel Nurse in at Schneider Regional Hospital St Thomas, USVI as a clinic nurse for Chronic Dialysis. I enjoyed this position very much and would like to return soon.
