I have been volunteering through the Springfield evenings Lions Club and Lions International since I was 14 years old. From the age of 14 until 21 I volunteered at the National Blind Center in Springfield Missouri. As a young adult, I became a member, slowley working my way up the ranks. My favorite time during my membership was when I was the chairman of the fundraising committee. By the end of my volunteering with the Springfield evenings Lions Club, I was the vice president and the president interim. I believe volunteering at such a young age and for so long, teaches many skills that are necessary to lead a compassionate and positive life.
The lessons I was taught through the Springfield evenings Lions Club and the national Blind Center, carried with me throughout every job I've ever had. At Sun Loan Company, I started as a customer service representative, made my way up to assistant manager and I was their charitable donations supervisor for my location. I also carried these lessons through to Jackson Hewitt when I would go business-to-business collecting items for various charities. At race Brothers, I used my skills in my customer service bu helping the elderly and disabled after hours with anything they may need..
