Program Manager - Transition and Logistics Management , 11/2011 to Current
Koch Industries, Inc.Cumberland City, TN,

US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) - Currently leading a Transition Planning and Logistical services contract to support campus consolidation activities at the EPA facilities in RTP by performing project management oversight, schedule coordination, stakeholder communication, awareness and training, inventory management, and physical relocation services of administrative personnel, laboratory assets, consumables, and chemicals. Subcontract execution, invoice management and oversight for more than 15 subcontracts. Contract valued at more than $5M.

Successful Results:

  • Developed a master project plan and a reality-based schedule that considered construction durations, research constraints and Federal employee work load. All phases of the laboratory vacancy, renovation and re-population were delivered in accordance with the schedules and budget developed in the earliest phases of the project.
  • Careful coordination, management and flexibility enabled the project to continue on schedule despite the government furlough that took place in the fall of 2013.
  • Spearheaded the EPA Campus Consolidation/Transition project to reduce the overall square footage by an additional 18,700 square feet, save $2.3 million in annual rent and utility costs and remove one of the most energy intensive facilities from EPA’s national space inventory.
  • Enabled EPA management to make informed decisions regarding constructability and space requirements to efficiently sequence the construction and renovation activities in accordance with research constraints and schedules.
  • Careful planning, execution and close coordination with the construction team enabled all laboratories to remain functional (“sustained”) throughout the renovation process, thereby maintaining research schedules and eliminating the need to furlough staff.
  • Identifying net changes in occupancy/vacancy for projected moves enabled RTP management to choose housing and migration planning options that provided flexibility for the organizations while adhering to commitments made to their bargaining unit stakeholders.
