Title of MA Dissertation: "The Church as God's Holy Temple: Reinterpreting Temple Purity Violations in light of Factionalism at Corinth."
SUMMARY OF DISSERTATION
The research challenged the traditional view of looking at temple purity violation through the exclusive lens of sexual immorality and idolatry. The research argued, through a Social/Historical and Exegetical approach, that factionalism in Pauline thought is interpreted as a moral impurity because it defiles the body of Christ, which Paul now understands constitutes the eschatological temple (naos) of God.
