Managing team of product development professionals including technical project managers and product engineers based locally and in the Philippines. Responsible for the release of several Inertial MEMS IC components to the market including those for consumer, medical and industrial applications. Released new fabrication processes and new process modules in association with products. This included the release of MEMS-only at ADI, a switch from integrated to non-integrated MEMS and a transfer to an external foundry. Released several MEMS products using new packaging technologies. This involved working with both the assembly team and the MEMS sensor design group to ensure product performance and manufacturability. Responsible for strategic planning for the group including both technology and product development initiatives. Play a key role in the definition and execution of applied R&D initiatives. Extensive experience solving product and process interaction problems in MEMS.
Managed team of professionals integrating new products and processes into the manufacturing line at a dedicated MEMS fabrication facility. Served on the manufacturing leadership staff. Developed strong structured problem solving and facilitation skills. Used TQM processes extensively. Managed the MEMS probe floor, including the probe engineering team. Participated in several cross-company teams relating to yield enhancement and probe process standardization. Continued leading the development of the MEMS manufacturing database including bringing in a yield management tool for analysis to the MEMS manufacturing facility.
Worked as one of two yield engineers at a start-up MEMS facility increasing the yield from single digits to near IC industry standard yields. Responsible for the setup and operation of the Fab Electrical Test department. Solved yield problems relating to fab, assembly and test processes. Participated in the development of a manufacturing database to facilitate problem solving. Trained others in the use of this database and associated software tools. Integrated new products such as ADI's first low-g accelerometers and gyroscopes.
