Upon completion of this school, I was able to perform as a disciplined, motivated, physically fit, technically and tactically proficient infantryman. Included practical exercises, discussion, lecture, demonstration, and tests. Topics included basic and advanced infantry skills, self discipline, motivation, physical fitness, combat survivability and techniques, and individual and crew-served weapons.
Upon completion of this school, I was able to use the parachute as a means of combat deployment. Topics included jump tower training, landing falls, malfunctions, and experience in jumping.
Upon completion of this assessment and selection course, I was awarded the right to wear the Ranger Tan Beret and assigned to the Army's elite 75th Ranger Regiment. Topics included advanced marksmanship, breaching, mobility, and physical fitness.
Upon completion of this course, I was able to perform advance urban operations. Topics included advanced close-quarter marksmanship, advanced breaching, and advanced room clearing techniques.
Upon completion of this course, I was able to successfully complete a rigorous physical conditioning test, plan and prepare for combat operations, and use survival and fieldcraft skills under harsh conditions with little food or sleep. Included practical exercises, discussion, and classroom exercises. Topics included tactical planning and execution, outdoor survival skills, land navigation, physical training, water, land, and airborne operations, mountaineering, and mountain tactical operations.
Upon completion of this school, I was able to exercise advanced skills in long range marksmanship; collect, document, and analyze intelligence; use camouflage techniques, estimate target range; utilize proper evasion techniques; develop concealment skills; exercise personal safety and safety of others; and develop surveillance and tracking techniques. Included practical exercises, discussion, case studies, and lecture. Topics included advanced long range marksmanship; team building; advanced weapon handling; rules of engagement; concealment; and risk assessment.
