Physician Recruiter for physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, for El Paso Veteran Affairs Health Care System (fifty percent virtual) with responsibility for planning, developing and carrying out full range of recruitment and placement, for assigned professions: applying laws, Executive Orders, regulations, policies, practices, and procedures to provide comprehensive staffing and placement service for LIPs (Licensed Independent Practitioners).

Performs external placement and recruitment activities, which typically generate complex problems to include preparing vacancy announcements, determining eligibility and issuing certificates of qualified candidates. Determines degree of compliance with regulation and other related requirements for program(s) assigned. Such as serves as technical advisor to Physician Professional Standards Board on all board action matters concerning appointments, advancements, and awards.

Responsible for developing, managing, and directing marketing program that focuses on positive public perception of Medical Center, with goal of attracting highly qualified staff. Routinely develops advertisement material to be placed in journals, newspapers, magazines and websites for hard-to-recruit positions.

Meets regularly with Service Chiefs' to coordinate advertising and to share point of contact within professional community. Conducts preliminary telephone interviews with potential candidates, reviews CVs, and responds to letters, emails and telephone calls of employment inquiries.

Initiates transfers and reassignments between VA Medical Center and other Federal agencies. Extends job offers, determines salaries by applying pay setting regulations, establishes reporting dates and coordinates with all responsible personnel to ensure pre-employment requirements are met in timely manner.

Performs recruitment and placement, and affirmative employment advisory services. Identifies management problems and considers them from total Medical Center viewpoint.
