Plans, organizes, coordinates, schedules, promotes and implements a variety of year-round indoor and outdoor activities through the outdoor recreation center.
These activities are recreational as well as educational and take full advantage or attractions and resources in the surrounding area. Plans specific activities that address the differing interests of eligible base customers. Creates and maintains a very detailed resources center with up-to-date information on recreational areas or customer interest as well as contact information. Sets up and maintains contracts with surrounding local recreational businesses for special interest adventure programs (climbing, boating, canoeing, horse riding, hiking, camping, scuba diving, hunting, shooting, archery, fishing, skating, etc). Assists with cash handling, accounting, daily deposits, time keeping, office tiling, housekeeping, and other related office functions. Develops and assesses customer recreational interest through surveys developed in cooperation with the marketing office. Creates and distributes customer surveys based on current marketing trends, customer interest, and feasibility. Receives and assesses results and makes programming recommendations to supervisor. Produces marketing requests for marketing upcoming programs, and delivers posters/fliers/materials throughout base facilities. Coordinates publicity needs with the marketing office and ensures desired dissemination is made to base customers. Provides estimated cost data and itinerary for planned activities.
Considers relevant cost factors such as lodging, equipment, guides, instructors, supplies, l'ood, etc. Makes recommendations on more eflicient alternative means or providing the desired activity. Takes appropriate action to ensure program financial commitments arc fulfilled. Produces an after action report after each program/trip to evaluate effectiveness. Oversees the Information, Tickets and Tours (ITT) program, contacting potential customers to assist in selecting the desired recreational packages. Insures safe transport of participants on long multi-day, overnight outings. Operates multi-passenger vehicles in support of recreation activities and trips. Supervises assigned personnel. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
