I began my nursing career almost 18 years ago working as a staff nurse on a pediatric unit. I have worked in various areas of the hospital setting, skilled nursing, cardiology, ED, OR, and OB. The bulk of my career has been spent in critical care and cardiovascular care. As a house supervisor, I currently maintain the flow of patients throughout the hospital, handle customer and employee complaints, and act as hospital administration after hours. Through relationship building, I build a rapport with patients, nurses and physicians, as well as other non-licensed personnel to keep hospital staff working as a team. I have learned over the past eighteen years of nursing, to think quickly and respond appropriately to crisis situations.
I graduated with my ADN third in my class, on the dean's honor roll. While at Freeman Health System I received the Signature award for providing exceptional nursing care. I was employed for each hospital when both Freeman Health System and Mercy Hospital converted to computerized charting, and was a designated super user for both facilities during those respective times. The time I have spent at Mercy, I have built and maintained relationships with each of my managers, and even those who no longer employed with Mercy maintain in contact.
All course work completed, scheduled to begin my capstone project Feb 1, 2020 with an eight week time limit to completion. At that time I will recieve my degree MBA HCM and HR specialization.
