  • Ran 3 cupolas which produced ductile and grey iron.
  • Maintained 5 junkers.
  • Maintained 5 induction furnaces and chemistries in them
  • Controlled iron chemistries out of the cupolas to maintain in specs to make quality products.
  • Supervised all melt employees.
  • Supervised all employees in ladle repair.
  • Maintained high levels of house cleaning in the foundry.
  • Maintained time keeping for all melt employees through Kronos time keeping system.

  • Inspect the cupola and all support equipment to assure proper operation.
  • Schedule and coordinate man power requirements of the department in a cost effective manner.
  • Instruct, train and motivate all employees on the specific responsibilities of there jobs.Establish and implement training activities,job related policies,procedures and techniques(including safety and "right to know" to allow the employees to become job and safety proficient as quickly as possible.
  • Investigate any accident which occurs to an employee under my supervision, assisting the safety department in the analysis of the accident in order to correct any causes of the accident.
  • Review the performance and work habits of all employees in the department to maintain acceptable levels.
  • Establish objectives/levels of performance using Interaction Management Techniques.
  • Participate in first step grievances in accordance with the Labor Agreement to promote harmonious employee relations and equitable solutions for the company.
  • Responsible for covering all shifts in melting department when a supervisor from another shift is absent, also train new supervisors to the melting department in proper cupola operations.
  • Also have cross trained into the casting area and the cores and ladle areas.
