More than 25 years of diversified customer-related experience, including 12 years managing all aspects of rail intermodal transportation activities; including hands-on experience at rail terminals (in-gating freight, building trains, grounding and notification, etc). Currently work with all levels of management at HQ offices to ensure highest possible level of service quality for company's largest customer and provide leadership within department to help CSXI attain its goals. Have received several recognition awards for outstanding performance.
Provide through and accurate communication to Schneider National offices on all daily tactical changes to operating plan of inbound/outbound trains. Provide daily customer service functionality, coordinating efforts through Green Bay and Jacksonville. Work and create service cases as necessary. Work with CSXI terminals on terminal specific issues; bad ordered units, ingate/outgate issues. Provide daily tracking/tracing of units to Schneider National. Interact with regional Operations managers on day to day Schneider National business and problem resolution. Initiate service recovery measures when deemed necessary.
Assists the Terminal Manager with all of the functions of running the Intermodal terminal on a daily basis. Ensure that decisions are made to maximize profitability of the company. Work with the Terminal Manager, clerical staff and contractors to ensure that the train plans and terminal plans are in harmony to minimize arrival to spot times of inbound trains, maintain sufficient time to efficiently load all outbound cargo and make on time releases of outbound trains. Work with the Terminal Manager, Network Operations and local CSXT management to adjust/change plans and schedules to meet network, customer and terminal needs. Ensure all CSX intermodal safety and environmental policies are adhered to by all employees and contractors. Ensure all necessary departments of CSX intermodal are informed of all terminal needs and special conditions (daily updates if necessary). Perform miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager. Communicates with the Clerical Staff, Yardmasters, Operations Managers and Terminal Managers on the daily terminal procedures.
Provide day to day management of the Intermodal Network including disposition orders, train operations and performance. Perform as a liaison between service suppliers and Intermodal customers. Monitor and aggressively respond to incidents and trends in train performance, equipment usage, blocking compliance and data accuracy. Directs core and off-core transportation suppliers to manage compliance with performance agreements, routing specifications, and equipment distribution requirements. Monitors service levels and seeks alternatives for continuous improvement.
