My career goal is to be hired as Case Manager/Family Support Partner at SAY. I have experience as a Program Coordinator in a Family Support Center model. The duties and tasks required as a Case Manager aligns closely with that past position and as a former teacher, the Parent Training component is another area in which I have expertise and strategies to effectively teach the Parent Education classes in a engaging, and member-centric format fosters learning. If hired, I bring cultural awareness based in courses taken and personal experience traveling and living in foreign countries. My compassionate nature will benefit program participants. I am relatable due to similar similar pasts; an alcoholic parent, domestic abuse victim, single motherhood, no monetary or co-parenting support, and needing welfare assistance. At 26, I was pregnant, with no job or high school diploma. But had have the drive to improve myself for the sake of my daughter. I passed my GED, attended Community College and earned my AA degree, applied and was accepted into WWU Human Services program and graduated with Honors. My first job was working in a Family Support Center where I created a program "Friendship Connection". Which purpose was to provide a social outlet for cognitively delayed teenage girls. I recruited teenage girl volunteers and all met weekly at the Center to play games, prepare a meals, and just hangout together.
