I am currently employed as a part time hostess at Bahama Breeze. As a hostess I am responsible for greeting the guests and checking them in. It is also very important to create a warm and welcoming environment so that the guests can enjoy their meal at the restaurant. Some other responsibilities I have as hostess are maintaining the floor chart, managing what tables are clean or dirty, as well as communicating to servers when they are seated. If I am not checking people in and seating them, I am on the To - Go stand answering phone calls and managing orders that must be taken out to cars. While I was at Bahama Breeze, my title changed from just Hostess to Head of Host, as well as, Front of House Trainer. This meant that when we hired a new host or hostess I was to train them for the job. I have trained about 5 new hostesses while there. As Head of Host I was the hostess assigned to help the new members through the night to allow them to be more comfortable on the job. I am very comfortable in the restaurant industry now after collecting this experience!
