At this job I was in charge of ordering all of the parts and tools that all of our company bases spread out around the Islands. This included all parts that was part of our scheduled maintenance and non scheduled maintenance. Also I was to order all consumables that includes but not limited to, hardware, safety equipment, oils, soaps, ect. These where used daily and always needed to be ordered and had stock as if we did run out we could have potentially lost a huge amount of profit for just a dollar bolt. This is part of a safety culture we have had installed in us to insure the safety of me and everyone around us. I would "Shop around" for the best deals and once I found the best deal I would create a purchase order, get the purchase order approved, order the parts and keep track of item during shipping. I was in charge of keeping inventory up to date and accurate to insure that do not run out of an item that we use daily and that we show an accurate count for mechanics to easily locate and sign out parts. Our inventory was spread out through 4 different locations and I was in charge with counting everything storing everything and labeling everything in and storing then in a alphabet and numerical order for easy finding. In putting the up to date inventory in to our system for easy finding of out total inventory. I have created this system and had employees use a barcode scanner then would make it easy for them to remove parts out and report it and for me to update the inventory count.
In this job I was also in charge of inquiring for different services. Most where contracted and I would type out some contracts ruff drafts for my portion needed and finalized by my boss and owners. Most had a draft saved and a little tweaking to insure correct work to perform and cost. When we would require another company for work like frame work, electrical, instrument work, those where all a contract work service. Most times we would inquire for service almost always contract service was required as most was for aviation work. A lot had different rules stated in there where work will be preformed part provided, room and travel need be provided etc..
we also had a hand full of service that was not backed as a contract and dealt with just another company providing service to what we request and work to be preformed under our supervision and once both party's are happy with payment will be provided.
When I had free time from this I would assist on bigger or heavy maintenance jobs. Before I became procurement manager I worked out in the hanger doing minor and major repairs on Helicopters. We had strict company policies and also FAA policies that we had to follow and manufactory manuals and inspections. This job you have to be very detail oriented and work fast but very safe way to insure the safety of the many lives that fly inside the helicopter. This I worked a lot with tools to repair, and replace components of the fuselage of the helicopter, powerplant or engine of the helicopter and electrical systems.
Also we will use equipment to move items. We would use a fork lift. Our company polices never needed for us to get certified but we did have to go through test to insure proper use of equipment and be covered by insures for our and airport policeys.
While I worked at costco I was in business delivery department where I was tasked with getting orders from company's together placed on a pallet inspected for completion, wrapped loaded in shipping containers for shipping the following morning. this job was focused on making sure we get the correct product, correct amount of the product they requested. Also making the pallets stacked correct and sturdy for shipping. I was certified to use pallet jacks and also had to complete a online test and driving test for electronic pallet jacks to help me load 40 ft containers and moving heavy pallets around the store after closing hours. we had to work with our inventory of what we have in stock and what we have shipping to insure we are not taking all of our stock in the store. For some orders i would have to get full whole pallets that would consist of waters toilet papers paper towels dog food ect.. These where the ones the electronic pallet jack was used mainly and also for loading containers.
When I first got hired into Paradise Helicopters I have started off working grounds crew. This job description was to deal with the front of the house operations. I had to check in our guest and give them a safety briefing. Load them and unload them from there flights. Also as first impressions are very important and as I viewed it as if people are flying with our company and they see our front lawn trees and putting green to be messy as well as our helicopter not cleaned and wiped down I feel people can think the same care was taken care of the integrity of keeping our helicopters running safe. For this personal reason I too a huge pride in cleaning our helicopters and front office. Also I was in charge of working on the outside looks and upkeep. Planting grass and trees, Cutting grass and putting green, trimming and pruning trees, and hedges, and some work on our sprinkler system.
