As a Guest Experience Captain at Buffalo Wild Wings my job duties varied much more than a traditional restaurant employees normally would. A GEC is fairly similar to a manger. A GEC is the first line of defense at the restaurant level when working with guests. Any positive or negative feedback was delivered to us, and we would then pass it on to management. The day to day duties of a GEC consist of, but not limited to, featured beverage and food sampling, promotional ideas, fund raising, some marketing and most importantly the over all guest experience while at our restaurant. I also conducted daily pre-shifts to ensure a organized, smooth, and efficient shift. As a part of the GEC team, we were able to bring the GEM Score from a 72 up to a 83 within two months. Also every year we hold a fund raiser for St. Jude's Children Hospital, and this last year i was the top raiser in our region. In the fund raiser i, personally, raised over $2,000 for St. Jude's and was recognized for my efforts by our regional manger. As a GEC we don't get recognized very often because our goal is to motivate other team members by giving recognition to them.
As a server i had the normal job duties as a server normally would, but because i became a certified trainer i took it one step further. As a WCT Server I developed and maintained exceptional customer service standards. Being a WCT Server it was expected that I exhibited thorough knowledge of foods, beverages, supervisory duties, service techniques, and guest interactions. Along with that I communicated well and used strong interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with guests and employees.
As a Shift Lead I help create the schedules, did inventory on dry and food items, and entered the food shipments for the coming week. At the end of each shift I was responsible for doing the check outs, counting the drawer, doing deposits, and making sure we always had a appropriate working environment. As a Shift Lead I was responsible for recognizing, discipling, and counseling employees per company standards. Whenever new items came out or prices changed it was my responsibility to update the computers to the new specifications.
