I am currently a sophomore at Salisbury University located in Salisbury, MD. I am majoring in Communications (track in public relations) and have a International Studies minor. In high school I was the head of the costume department for the theatre department, which strengthened my leadership skills. I also was a part of the forensics speech club and the psychology club. My senior year I interned at Nordstrom as a Fashion Ambassador and worked as a sales associate at Aeropostale. I've worked at a juice/ smoothie bar in a gym for years, eventually getting promoted to manager's assistant and trainee. During the summer of 2019 I was a receptionist at a Salon, learning a lot about how a company works. By working in these specific jobs I have gained skills in customer service, communication, and fashion merchandising and marketing. Also due to taking an Information Systems class in college I can operate software's such as Microsoft Excel and Access.
Ever since my junior year of high school, I have worked part time at a juice/ smoothie bar at my local LA Fitness. During my senior year I got promoted to Manager's Assistant and Trainee, however since I am in college and come back only for breaks I do not hold that position anymore but help out when I can. Since only one person works per shift, I have a lot of responsibility during my hours:
For the summer before my sophomore year college, I worked as a receptionist for my Aunt's high end salon.
For the summer after my senior year of high school, I worked at my local Aeropostale as a sales associate.
During my senior year of high school, I joined the Fashion Ambassador Internship for Nordstrom. For the internship, our group learned all about the buying, merchandising, and marketing of their products. We did a lot of hands on activities and assignments understand the ins and outs of the fashion business world.
Speech Forensics: Aug 14 - Jun 16
In forensics, I would pick, memorize, and act out a speech then go to a forensics meet a few times a year with my school to present my speech to a room of other public speakers.
Acting conservatory: Aug 12 - Jun 14
During seventh through ninth grade, I was accepted into a very competitive acting conservatory at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, MD. For two years we worked on and developed our acting skills and finally put on an amazing show and the end of the program.
WJ Stage: Sep 2014 – May 2018
I was a part of my high school's theatre program since I was a freshman. I joined the costume's crew and during my junior year, I became costume's mistress for all of the school plays and musicals. While in position, I worked on shows like Laramie Project, Phantom of the Opera, Christmas Carol, and Mary Poppins. Being in charge of the department meant being responsible for contacting rental companies, inventory, understanding and teaching costuming techniques, and designing the costumes for the show.
Marketing Excellence: Aug 2019 – Current
This year, I joined the marketing excellence club at Salisbury University to strengthen my marketing skills and to build connections.
