As a Field Technician, my responsibilities are maintenance tasks associated with the Texas Gas pipeline system and compressor station. Some of the pipeline duties consisted of valve inspections, pipeline patrolling, locating lines, and public awareness. I am a certified trenching and excavation, Competent Person. As a Competent Person, I must identify existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees and fall under the compliance standards of OSHA.
In the compressor station, I am responsible for environmental, health & safety of natural gas movement, and the health and safety of employees and working conditions. I am a safety committee member in which meetings are held monthly to strategies on ways to make the workplace safer.
I am responsible for maintaining pipeline pressures, and continuously monitor and maintaining equipment in the compressor station. I am responsible for the recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety conditions as well as training new employees.
