Seasoned Landscape Manager with over two decades working in the field, both in the upscale commercial market as well as in municipal Athletic Sports fields. I have an attention to detail, I value and strive for excellence, I possess an "old fashion work ethic". I have a proven record for developing quality, volume, and customer service at the places I have worked.
Managed all aspects of Athletic field maintenance;
Utilized People-Soft (Enterprise Resource Planning) for Employee time input and Approval (18-24 employees), Purchasing, and Performance evaluations. The City utilized the Kronos biometric timeclock systems. I maintained safety and emergency readiness among personnel by disseminating information on and monitoring compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
Collaborated with the Athletics Superintendent to project a detailed budget to cover all maintenance expenses. Athletics Maintenance Divisions budget has ranged from 1.95-2.4 million dollars during my time here. Processed and managed all authorizations to purchase, quotes, acquisitions, inventories. These included minor equipment, safety supplies, operating supplies, facility repairs, uniforms, and Ag. and Botanicals (Fertilizers, chemicals, and soils) rental equipment. Additionally, I managed and processed "other contractuals" which includes bulk trash dumpsters, and portable toilets. I monitored and stayed within budget for all areas under my control and alerted my Superiors if I saw areas of concern. Fort Worth is always trying to grow their Park-Green space and we have added two new Parks and three added fields to existing parks while I have been here. Currently, we have a new park coming online in 2021 with the first five of a possible twenty field complex. In November, an existing park will begin a complete renovation which will include lights and facilities (restrooms and concession). Every time these capital plans present themselves I have been asked to calculate management and maintenance costs to operate the park. (Decision packages including manpower, equipment, and operational costs.)
Daily oversaw and provided worksheets for two full-time stationary Park crews, and four rolling crews, including an irrigation repair crew. The City utilizes Motorola's' "Irrinet "automated computer and App based system to control all field lights and irrigation on the fields. Myself and my team managed all lights for reservations daily and set up and adjusted the irrigation as needed. These employees took care of all scheduled reservation preparations, regular maintenance and cultural practices for eighty four Athletic Sports fields. These fields included; Baseball, Softball, Tee-ball, Soccer, (natural and synthetic), Rugby, Flag Football, Kickball, Frisbee football, and Cricket. In the "off- season" I set up and oversaw field repairs and up-grades to the fields including; grading, lip removals, mark smart installations, fence repairs, painting, goal and bleacher replacement, field leveling and various winter projects to ensure our parks readiness and safety. Safety, Playability, and Aesthetics were our goals.
The Athletics Division has almost doubled the reservations and income for field rentals from 2018-2019. The revenue for 2018 was in the $400,000 range and 2019 was just under a million dollars. 2020 was on track to be over a million until COVID-19.We had 21,800 athletic field reservations in 2019 and only three complaints that elevated to a written documented response.
