Developed and tested a new high-performance prototype detector for the XAFS (X-ray Absorption Fine Structure) beamline of the Elettra Synchrotron in order to increase the energy resolution and high data flows management in the photons detection.
Designed and developed the hybrid hardware-software part of the system for the read-out, real-time digital signal processing and Ethernet communication based on a Zedboard (Zynq-7020 SoC), including High-Performance AXI ports, DDR3, DMA, UART and PMODs.
Programmed the ARM Cortex-A9 processor with Embedded C applications based on FreeRTOS Operating System to implement TCP/IP communication using Xilinx Software Development Kit (SDK).
