My current position is with the Exelon Nuclear Generation Station in Byron, Illinois. A PWR designed dual unit reactor system putting out 2500 megawatts of power. As a Senior-A level craft technician my daily duties consist of performing preventative and corrective maintenance to safety designed systems, performing pre-job briefs, and ensuring that the highest standards for safety and skills are met with each task. As a member of the F.I.N team (fix it now) I must have a keen understanding of plant systems, print reading and the technical abilities to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot emergent plant conditions as they arise. An onsite training facility continuously instills the behaviors and skills required to be a top performing maintenance technician.

  • Interpreted electric and electronic schematics and mechanical layouts to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Measured and read DMM, meggers, micrometers and thickness gauges using electrical and mechanical testing instruments.
