World VisionLusaka, LusakaDonor Liaison Officer
As Donor Liaison Officer, I fulfilled the following responsibilities:
  • Helped raise funds for WASH, economic development (Microfinance and women's savings groups), health, education, and food security and livelihoods. Water-borne diseases, malnutrition, and malaria are some of the main causes of child mortality in Africa and my role contributed to saving thousands of lives of children every year.
  • Ensured that World Vision Zambia's strategic plan included a commitment to cultivating, serving and strengthening of relationships with mid-level and major donors as well as Church partners.
  • Regularly gave progress reports to donors and other partners for the various interventions mentioned above.
  • Hosted international donors and partners, showed them needs in rural communities and demonstrated the impact of World Vision's interventions. Each trip took creativity and meticulous planning. The experience always left donors encouraged and touched in ways written impact reports could not.
  • Participating in fundraising activities carried out by World Vision partners in the USA. Mobilized funds for World Vision's child sponsorship program. Child sponsorship funds benefit not only the sponsored children but the entire communities where those children live.
