Thank you for taking the time for me. I graduated high school in 2016 and passed my cosmetology state boards in the same year. I was also working after a school hours at McDonald’s and then eventually Burger King when I was a senior. I ended up working as a manager at burger kind for four years. I needed more money so I got a job at red onion state prison to be a correctional officer. I completed a six week training academy in Richmond va. Then began work in the buildings with the inmates personally. I would feed them, do checks over three pods every half hour had to check every cell. The inmates were out with me as I would do my job. Most of the time I had one more officer with me in the pod but sometimes I would be alone. I organized many things for the inmates and took control to make them follow rules in a professional and respectful way. I then left Red Onion and came to Sykes to be a customer service representative. I was blessed to be able to work from home and I really hope to find another job that will allow me to work from home as I am a single mother to a 5 year old son, Blake.
