I graduated from Tarpon Springs High School‘s Culinary Arts program in 2011. At the time I believed I wanted to make a career working in restaurants. Most of my adult life has been spent bussing tables, bar backing, and serving tables at numerous restaurants throughout the area such as Lucky Dill (2 years), L.B.C. (2 years) and Black Grouper (1 year). When I entered college I found a new love for business and saw I excelled in resolution and leadership skills; however, I still had a strong interest in restaurants and continued working in restaurants throughout my college career. Eventually I was given an opportunity to work in a local Deli as a cook/cashier and I worked there for over 2 years. It was very similar to working in a restaurant; however, it gave me a small taste of business management skills by giving me more control and independent responsibilities in the store. This gave me an urge to try something different. I decided to change my direction entirely and jump into retail. I applied at Marshalls where I was hired as a sales-floor employee. I loved my job from day one. Within 3 months I was promoted to Customer Experience Coordinator, where I continue to excel and gain recognition as a role model employee. I am the fastest promoted coordinator in the store. I used the customer service skills that I learned in the restaurant industry and college, along with my positive, quick learning personality to gain traction in a new career path. I took a chance and I want to continue to take chances to prove my worth. I want this job to help other people.
