Experience
Convoy Escort Team
May 2013 to June 2014
1230th Transportation Company - Thomasville, GALocation: Thomasville, GA While deployed, I was assigned to a line platoon that was tasked as a Convoy Escort Team. The most significant role I held in regards to missions was that of the only female gunner assigned to the 1230th Transportation Company. In addition to being a gunner, I was also my platoon leader's driver and a load truck driver for various missions. During the time that I was not on missions, I cross-trained in unit supply operations. Here, I assisted with the preparation and turn in of 248 items with a net worth of $5,544,733.84 to support retrograde efforts in Regional Command North. While in supply I assisted with several Sensitive Item Inventories as well as a few Cyclic Inventories. I gained a working knowledge of the Army Direct Ordering (ADO) system and assisted with approving and distributing orders to soldiers. Due to the knowledge I gained in the supply shop, I was selected to be a part of the transition from a civilian operated to a military operated Class IX warehouse. My main task at the Class IX warehouse was in the issue section where I pulled Class IX parts from the stock storage area and distributed them to the 203 customers. There was a huge emphasis on Customer Service when operating in the issuing section. Although most of my time was spent in issuing, I also worked in the receiving and shipping sections where I prepared Transportation Control and Movement Documents (DD FORM 1384) and worked with loading and attaching RFID tags to the shipments. Additionally, I gained basic knowledge of the SARRS-1 system by conducting daily processes and procedures. The structure of this operation resulted in me being responsible for the well-being of two other soldiers. During my time overseas, I was also tasked to multiple guard duty posts. While on guard duty, it was my job to control access to vulnerable points on post and to ensure that only the people that needed to gain access to certain areas were allowed through. This was an armed guard position and I was usually on shift for 12 hours straight.
Maintenance Technician I
March 2012 to Current
Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources - Lawrenceville, GAAs a Maintenance Technician I was assigned to a work crew. Our primary responsibility was to complete work orders. The majority of my time was spent making point repairs on water, sewer, and storm water pipes. A smaller portion of my time was spent laying new water, sewer, or storm water pipe down in a subdivision. I also spent a little bit of time in the warehouse pulling parts to stock our work truck. It was a job requirement to obtain a Class A CDL in order to transport equipment to and from job sites on trailers. I also gained entry level experience working with heavy machinery like back hoes and bobcats. Typical work days were eight hours long, however overtime was a normal occurrence. It was mandatory for us to be on call for a two week period.
Cashier
February 2010 to Current
Georgia Army National Guard - Thomasville Loganville, GA(88M) My primary responsibility as a Motor Transport Operator as a traditional Guardsman is to perform the monthly Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on our assigned trucks.
