  • Established goals and objectives for equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) activities which support the organization's missions. Result: Conducted weekly Business Unit Team Review to ensure our employee demographics are representative of the community demographics.
  • Kept abreast of diversity and inclusion best practices and resources for organizational implementation. Assessed system performance, analyzed current practices, and provided advice on appropriate changes. Result: Conducted monthly themed offstage areas to celebrate heritage months and merchandised product in support of LGBTQIA+ and proceeds went to GLSEN.
  • Took a leadership role in mentoring, coaching and guiding members of the executive leadership team, managers, and staff on EDI matters. Results: Target received a 100 from the Human Rights Campaign on the 2020 Corporate Equality Index, in 2018 Target was noted as one of the top companies for Executive Women, and in 2019 they were noted as one of the top 50 best companies for multi-cultural women.
  • Implemented organization policies and procedures at the department level. Participated in policy revision and in the formulation of policies and procedures. Interpreted organization policies to staff with a patron and culturally responsive management perspective. Result: Increased representation for people of color in exempt roles by 15% and women of color in similar positions by 23%.
